The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is currently investigating an outbreak of meningococcal disease in Kent.
Data released by the UKHSA shows a slight decline in Meningitis B (MenB) vaccination coverage in the most recent recorded quarter, spanning July to September 2025.
In the second quarter of the 2025/26 financial year, 90.8% of all children aged 12 months in the UK had been administered vaccines against MenB, compared to 91.4% in the previous quarter. In England, the rates are lower, standing at 90.5% and 91.1% respectively.
Figures regarding the MenB booster, administered to children aged up to 24 months, stand at 87.8% at the UK level and 87.2% for England in the second quarter of 2025/26.

In Kent, vaccination coverage for Q2 is 91.1% for one-year-olds and 88.4% for the booster dose administered to two-year-olds.
London boroughs recorded the lowest coverage rates across England by a significant margin; in Hackney and Kensington and Chelsea, vaccines have been administered to less than 68% of one-year-olds.
